Ahimsa Mandala Pendant #1
Ahimsa means non-violence or non-injury. It is the first yama outlined in Patanjali's Yoga Sutra. The Yamas are basic guidelines for living a good and ethical life. It refers to not only the obvious physical violence but our thoughts and words that may inflict pain on ourselves and others.
We named this beautiful mandala pendant Ahimsa for the soothing and calming tones created by the rhodolite garnets and amethysts. 108 stones surround a deep red garnet. This pendant measures less than 1". The exquisite arrangement and colors bring us peace.
Amethyst is a favorite gem for it all its purple shades and hues. Did you know that the name amethyst comes from the Greek word for "not intoxicate"? Wearing amethyst jewelry is said to protect one from drunkenness. Maybe that's the reason we love this gem!
“I would not look upon anger as something foreign to me that I have to fight... I have to deal with my anger with care, with love, with tenderness, with nonviolence.”
